Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
Sam is our Practice Manager with overall responsibility for the day to day running of the practice and introduction of NHS-led change. He is supported by a small but dedicated clerical and administration team.
Reception and HR Manager
Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries and dealing with patient records.
Our team of District Nurses visit and care for patients who are unable to come to the surgery – appointments can be made via the Surgery. Nursing students are also attached to the district nursing team from time to time.
A team of health visitors provide advice and monitor the health of young children. The health visitor service is run by RBWM and can be contacted on 0300 365 6523.
All children deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential. We at this surgery are committed to working in partnership with parents to safeguard the health, development and welfare of all children.
Patients can self-refer to "Talking Therapies" on 0300 365 2000 or via www.talkingtherapies.berkshire.nhs.uk
A dietitian visits monthly to provide advice regarding healthy eating habits with respect to medical conditions, special diets etc. They can be seen at the surgery by appointment.
