Important information for patients about GP appointments.
To protect our patients, staff and local community we are changing the way patients access our services. Patients with internet access please use the eConsult function below and we will be in contact with you by 6pm the following working day. For more urgent queries please call the practice. You may have to wait a long time on the telephone. If you have an emergency you should still call 999.
Prescriptions. We are not taking prescription requests at the practice. You can use your local pharmacy, or online access to make requests for current repeat prescriptions. Medications which have not been ordered routinely for some time will not be issued via your pharmacy and should be requested via eConsult so that they can be properly reviewed. Just-in-case medications will only be issued in exceptional circumstances.
Fit Notes. Patients should continue to self certify for the first 7 days of any illness. We will only issue fit notes for patients who have medical symptoms. Patients self isolating for 14 days, who cannot work from home should use the https://111.nhs.uk/isolation-note service to obtain a note for their employer. Patients should discuss any sick pay concerns with their employers.

Tuesday and Thursday mornings & Tuesday afternoons (weekly)
A full service is offered for all vaccinations and advice required for foreign travel. To ensure adequate vaccination cover appointments should ideally be made 6 weeks prior to travel. There will be a charge for certain vaccinations. See the above tab for further information.
Wednesday and Thursday mornings (weekly)
Immunisation is recommended for all pre-school children and clinics are held Tuesday afternoons 13:30 to 15:30. You should call the practice to arrange an appointment for your child to be immunised.
Women from the age of 25 to 64 should have a cervical smear at least every five years. Appointments can be made with Sue Milner on Monday mornings, Tuesday afternoons, Anne Goulbourne on Wednesday afternoons or with any of the female Doctors. Patients are invited to be screened and notified of their result by post.
Sue Milner runs a Family Planning Clinic on Tuesday afternoon/evenings and Monday mornings. Alternatively you can see any doctor at the surgery.
Emergency contraception can be provided by a doctor or the family planning nurse by making an urgent appointment or speaking to the duty doctor/nurse by telephone. Alternatively, your pharmacist may be able to help.
Full pregnancy and antenatal care is offered by the community midwife who works at St Mark's Hospital just down the road.
If you become pregnant, you should complete this form on the Frimley Healthcare website.
The surgery recommends that patients who smoke should try and stop. Help can be obtained from the NHS Stop Smoking Service - details are available from our nurses, doctors or reception or the Smokefree Berkshire Helpline 0800 622 6360, or text QUIT to 66777.
We have limited numbers of appointments available at this time owing to staff shortages - you may need to book your vaccines privately if we cannot find an appointment for you.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment may be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines may have to be ordered as they are not always stock vaccines.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
